Welcome to King Elementary School!   

It is my pleasure to serve as the principal of Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School and collaborate with all stakeholders to fulfill the school’s mission.  Martin Luther King, Jr. said, “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically.  Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.”  With these thoughts in mind, it truly is a privilege to have the opportunity to help fulfill the educational goals for students at Martin Luther King, Jr. Elementary School.

My background in education spans over 20 years as a classroom teacher, curriculum leader and principal.  I taught at the elementary and middle school levels, served in multiple roles in the area of curriculum development and as an elementary school principal.  I am thrilled to bring my skills as an instructional leader to King Elementary School and look forward to working with all of you as partners in educating our children.

In addition to my enthusiasm for education, I love spending time with my husband, Jason and our two children, Kyle and Kara. We have two beagliers, Brownie and Bailey that keep our home full of energy and provides us with lots of love.  As a family, we love to travel, bike ride and spend time with our extended family.

I am thankful to have the opportunity to bring my passion for education to this wonderful school community.  I am excited about the journey ahead as we, the King Elementary School community, strive to achieve the mission of the school.
